Homebirth Midwifery Services

The services include:

  • Regular one-hour prenatal visits once a month and once a week during the last month of pregnancy

  • One home visit at approximately the 36th week of pregnancy

  • Childbirth education (individualized)

  • Labor, birth, and immediate postpartum care for the mother

  • Normal newborn care for the first hours after birth

  • Postpartum and normal newborn care home visit at 24 hours (more home visits if necessary)

  • Postpartum and normal newborn care office visits at 2-8 weeks

  • Telephone counseling as necessary

  • Hospital transfer assistance (if necessary)

  • Cord Blood Typing (for Rh Negative mothers)

  • RhoGAM (for Rh Negative mothers)

  • Routine Lab Work

  • Vitamin K and Opthalmic Antibiotics

  • Breastfeeding education and support

  • Disability and Family Leave document processing

  • WIC document processing

  • Birth Certificate and Social Security document processing

  • Lots of TLC

  • Birth Kit

  • Birth pool rental

Placenta Encapsulation

Placental encapsulation is the process of dehydrating the placenta, then  grinding into powder and placing it into pills. The ingesting of the placenta by the mother is believed to provide numerous health benefits after giving birth, during a woman’s menstrual period or during menopause.
